On October 11, 2020, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association organized a scientific and technological achievement evaluation meeting for the "Preparation Process and Key Technologies of a Series of Pearlescent Pigments (Pearlescent Materials)" in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province. 6 experts including Qian Yitai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lan Yaqing, deputy mayor of Yichun Municipal People's Government, attended and delivered speeches, Ding Xianggen, an investigator of the Municipal Government Office, Zhou Jianxian, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Yichun Science and Technology Bureau, and Xie Hui, Chairman of Yichun Association for Science , Long Wenping, deputy director of the Yichun Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and Xu Qing, a member of the Party Working Committee of Yichun Economic Development Zone, attended the meeting. The meeting believed that the project undertaken by Sunflower Chemical Group is the first internationally developed new process of multi-layer structure covering metal oxides with synthetic mica as the base material. It has realized stable, continuous, and mass production, and the product quality has reached EU standards, which has significantly improved high temperature resistance and biological safety. Products are exported to Japan and other international markets. Developed advanced processing and coating new technology for glass flakes, and obtained high-quality pearlescent pigments. Through the implementation of the project, 2 national invention patents were authorized. The company has developed a new coating process and formed 10 series of more than 200 products. Export to more than 40 countries and regions (the United States, Germany, Spain, etc.). The new output value was 461 million yuan, and the profit was 164 million yuan. The expert group headed by Academician Qian Yitai unanimously agreed that the overall technology of the "Preparation Process and Key Technologies of a Series of Pearlescent Pigments (Pearlescent Materials)" project has reached the international advanced level, and it is recommended to accelerate the promotion and application.

The new process technology can greatly improve product performance (color, stability, temperature resistance), reduce production costs (such as reducing energy consumption by 40%, saving about 3 million / year), improving market competitiveness, and dependence on raw material imports From complete reliance in 2015 to 2018, it dropped by 40%. The industry's imports of pearlescent products have dropped significantly (from 80% in 2015 to 50% in 2018). The export of enterprise products has increased year by year, with an annual growth rate of over 30%, reaching an annual export value of more than 100 million yuan, which has strongly promoted the development of the industry.

The technology of the project is mainly manifested in solving 4 key technical problems. Optimization of the preparation process and formula: The technical problem that the glass flakes are difficult to be uniformly coated is solved, and the gloss, brightness, and color density of the product are greatly improved. Significant improvement in product performance: glass flakes replace traditional mica and other substrates, greatly reducing heavy metal content; products prepared by special processing are better than natural pearlescent, synthetic pearlescent and other similar products, with good transparency, strong flicker, and good color density , Strong graininess. Developed multifunctional tungsten oxide-mica composite pearlescent pigment: Through structure and component control to improve the photochromic properties of tungsten oxide, we obtained multifunctional tungsten oxide with good stability, low cost, visible light color change, self-cleaning antibacterial, etc. -Mica composite pearlescent pigment. Developed high-reflective pearlescent fluorescent products: organically compounded pearlescent pigments with luminous marking powder, and developed high-reflective pearlescent fluorescent products that improve driving safety at night.
 
The technical indicators of the project are: particle size distribution 10-60μm; pH value: 6-10; volatile matter at 105 degrees Celsius ≤0.5%; oil absorption: 55-90g/100g; density: 3.0-3.2g/cm3; bulk density: 15- 40g/100ml; heavy metal content: Pb 10ppm (sample): 23ppm (national standard); Cd 5ppm (sample): 17ppm (national standard); As 10 (sample): 47 ppm (national standard); Hg 10 (sample): 94 ppm ( National standard) and so on.
 
This research solved some key technical problems that restricted the development of the industry, greatly promoted the improvement of related product production technology, and produced significant economic and good social benefits. The technical indicators of the production process have reached the domestic advanced level. The preliminary work has been checked by the Science and Technology Novelty Checking Workstation (L25) of the Ministry of Education. There is no public literature report in this research.

The advanced level of its technical and economic indicators is that the synthetic mica base pearlescent product has good high temperature resistance and is stable above 1000 ℃. The content of heavy metals is better than my country's national standards and EU standards, including Pb 10ppm; Cd 5ppm; As 10ppm; Hg 10ppm and so on. The product has bright color, pure color, soft luster and good pearl effect.
 
The degree of technical difficulty and complexity is that artificial mica needs to be synthesized at high temperature (1000°C), and it is difficult to achieve high purity and high permeability, and the process is complicated. The wide range of use of pearlescent products and the diversity of requirements make it difficult to control the production technology.
 
With technical reproducibility and maturity, the project was implemented in Ruicai Company in 2014, and a large-scale production line with an annual output of 20,000 tons was built. The system runs stably, the technology is mature, and the reproducibility is good, and the products are well received by users.
