What is a masterbatch?
Color masterbatch = pigment + carrier + auxiliary agent. The production methods of masterbatch include ink method, washing method, kneading method and metal soap method. Color masterbatches are classified according to different carrier resins: PE masterbatch, PP masterbatch, ABS masterbatch, PVC masterbatch, EVA masterbatch, etc. According to different uses, it can be divided into injection masterbatch, blow molding masterbatch, spinning masterbatch, etc. The advantages of color masterbatch are: make the pigment have better dispersibility in the product; help maintain the chemical stability of the pigment; ensure the stability of the product color; protect the health of the operator; keep the environment clean; easy to use. Disadvantages are: poor predictability of the coloring effect; affecting the strength of plastic products, plastics are easy to bend and deform; high cost, general-purpose masterbatches often use high-heat-resistant grade pigments, resulting in waste.
